Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced freelance/contract Frontend Developer to support the insourcing of a project development initiative. The contractor will be responsible for the Microsoft Outlook add-in components, while the internal development team focuses on the backend services and APIs.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building web-based Outlook add-ins using Office.js and can work closely with an internal engineering team to deliver a secure, maintainable solution.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop the frontend functionality for a Microsoft Outlook Add-in based on an existing Next.js frontend.
• Implement the web-based Outlook Add-in using Office.js based on a design provided by the internal team.
• Integrate frontend components with backend APIs developed by the internal team.
• Participate in solution design discussions and technical reviews.
• Ensure a responsive, secure, and maintainable implementation.
• Collaborate closely with backend developers, architects, and product stakeholders.
• Support testing, bug fixing, and production-readiness activities.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
• Proven hands-on experience developing Microsoft Outlook Add-ins using:
• Office.js
• Web-based Outlook Add-in architecture
• Basic understanding of cryptography concepts.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Next.js (React).
• Experience with TypeScript.
• Experience with Java EE / Java 8.
Desired Profile

• Able to quickly understand existing architectures and requirements.
• Pragmatic problem solver with a focus on delivery.
• Strong attention to code quality, maintainability, security, and user experience.
